Toolbox For those unfamiliar with the Light Painting technique –  You have decided on a subject to light paint.  1) Mount your camera on a tripod.  2) Compose and Focus. 3) Okay now the magic begins turn all of the lights off. 4)Take a 8 to 30 second exposure and paint one piece of your subject and repeat till you have painted all the pieces. This image I made around 30 exposures. 5) Down load your images to Lightroom or Adobe Bridge where you will select useful shots to be combined. 6) In Photoshop combine a series of ‘painted’ segments into one final image. I’m not sure this counts as a tutorial but it gives you an idea of what is involved. The light painting technique requires lots of practice and patience.  I love the way you can make the light bring out different shapes and textures. If you are interested in the technique be sure to check out the masters Harold Ross  And  Larry Lefever
